Dr. Daniele Shick is a dynamic educational leader with over 23 years of experience, including 18 years in school and district leadership roles. As the co-founder and CEO of Unlocking Education, she partners with schools, districts, and organizations to navigate the evolving role of artificial intelligence in education with clarity, purpose, and integrity.
Dr. Shick earned her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership & Policy from Florida State University, where her research explored how educators make sense of Generative AI and its impact on teaching, learning, and academic integrity. Her work sits at the intersection of innovation and authenticity, ensuring that as AI advances, human thinking, creativity, and meaningful learning remain at the center.
Over the past several years, she has focused deeply on how AI can be integrated to strengthen critical thinking, student agency, and instructional quality. Through Unlocking Education, she develops courses, leads professional learning, and advises educational systems on building vision-driven, sustainable approaches to AI integration.
Prior to founding Unlocking Education, Dr. Shick served as a classroom teacher, school administrator, and district leader, where she led large-scale academic initiatives, expanded program offerings, and implemented systems that improved student outcomes. She is known for her ability to translate complex ideas into practical strategies that empower educators and leaders to move forward with confidence.
