FAIR Ed

Foundations of AI Readiness in Education

Artificial intelligence is no longer on the horizon. It’s already in our classrooms, shaping how students learn, how teachers plan, and how schools operate. Curiosity is a start, but what educators truly require is clarity, confidence, and compliance.

FAIR Ed is a 15-hour, fully asynchronous microcredential designed to prepare educators, school leaders, and instructional staff to navigate AI responsibly and effectively. The course balances practical strategies with ethical and legal considerations, equipping participants to meet federal and state expectations while ensuring AI enhances, not replaces, human decision-making.

Through interactive lessons, case studies, and reflective exercises, participants explore:

  • What AI is (and what is isn't)
  • Legal and ethical frameworks shaping AI in education
  • Risks such as bias, privacy, and accessibility
  • Opportunities for innovation and equity
  • Practical tools to guide safe, compliant classroom use

Designed to fit busy schedules, the fully asynchronous format allows participants to work at their own pace while still earning a recognized microcredential. By the end of FAIR Ed, educators will not only understand the foundations of AI readiness but will also be prepared to lead conversations, shape policy, and model best practices for their schools and districts.
